The Nullarbor Plain
Long-haul truck driver Warren Smith (aged 48) sits for a portrait in the Caiguna Roudhouse along the Nullarbor Plain. Based in Perth, Smith has been driving the Nullarbor for 20 years. When asked how many kilometres he has driven he answered "I wouldn't even know". The distinctive teardrop tatoos on his cheek are a memorial for two friends killed in a head-on car crash. Smith previously drove tanks in the military and worked boning and slaughtering sheep. David Maurice Smith/Oculi.
